About Us

Our Vision

   

Strong Women Talking – Marigurim Mubi Yangu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation was founded with a vision and passion to deliver culturally appropriate prevention focused workshops and programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children in communities. With qaulified & experienced Indigenous grass roots facilitators delivering programs in safe and theraputic forms, the trauma informed workshops aim to break the multi-generational cycle of family and domestic violence once and for all.

Our Programs & Services

  

'Healing Journey' (Weekly for 2 months and monthly for the remaining 10 months) which aims to educate, equip and empower our women to live a life free of the cycle of violence and enjoy a purposeful, healthy life making healthy choices. 


'Big Sister Little Sister' - which offers an educational program that is aimed at primary & secondary school female students. Topics covered include, Healthy boundaries, Self Worth, Beauty Within, Reflection, Deep Listening, Yarning Circles, Educational Talks 


'Open Thinking' - which is a half day or full day workshop that helps strengthen non Indigenous organisations or services with non Indigenous workers who are working with families to be able to understand domestic and family violence through an Aboriginal context.
